OKLAHOMA OKLAHOMA OKLAHOMA!!!!!!

So we finally found the time to get out to Oklahoma to check out the town...It was such short notice, like I mentioned before, that we drove to Denver and then flew out from there (surprisingly cheaper). We had a whole TON of issues with United Airlines in Denver and had to spend the whole day on Friday in the freaking airport...It was such a mess! So we had one less day in Okie than we thought. The trip, and the town, were off to a rough start. But on Saturday the law school had an orientation that we were able to attend and that was really nice. We met a few people and even better; they gave us tickets to a local baseball game! Before the game we drove around to look at some houses that we found on Craiglist. The first one we went to was in a scary part of town. We talked to someone that was out in front of the house next to where we would live; he said it wasn't a bad place to live...and I quote..."I'm not going to lie to you; we here gun shots every once in a while come from about two streets over..." Uh...NO WAY do I want to live there!!!! I would never want to be left alone in the house! But we went to another area and it was FABULOUS!!!We went to the baseball game which was in an area called Bricktown. It use to be their old rundown factory part of town, but they have revitalized it and seriously it was awesome!!! I tried to take pictures of it, but it really did it no justice. I am looking forward to spending a lot of time there once we move!

We flew home on Sunday which was Holty's Birthday!!!! I felt bad that we had to chill in the airport all day but he got to play with his new birthday present...An Ipod Touch which he has been raving about ever since he bought it....I think I know what I am getting for my birthday... Once we were back in Denver we stayed at my best friend Bonnie's new house and I am officially so freaking jealous of her!!! I have missed her a ton so it was great to see her and her cute family again!

The drive home from Denver seemed longer than normal...Maybe because we made a few pit stops. One of which is this Lincoln Memorial in the middle of this wooden canyon type area (I would say canyon cause there weren't really mountains but just roll with it please). So we had to document it. Pretty cool that someone could carve something like that....

By the end of the trip we all just wanted to be home. Being crammed in my two door civic was no fun for anyone. But it was fun to bring Rona out so she could spend time with her sister...And it was fun for me to get to know her a little bit more. I married into a great family!!!

So overall the trip was good, because we have a better idea of what we are getting ourselves into. We met a lot of people while we were there that are helping us out in trying to find a good place to live and we will have some friends out there!!! It's countdown time!!! Crazy!

I know it, girl. Me thinks the in-law gods did smile upon us! And, it makes me sad to hear you talk about living so far away :( But glad you had some good stuff happen out there.
