Domesticated Mama...

Since moving out here I have done a lot more baking and what not than I ever imagined myself doing. The first little go was the above picture...Holt had a little gathering with his fellow law school friends (this was the first week we were out here). They are mini caramel apples and they were a pretty good hit with all the little kids and adults at the BBQ; I get nervous making new things because you never know how they'll turn out. The only bad thing was that it was hot outside and they kind of started melting.
I've made Manda B's delicious homemade oreo cookies...I've put a few little twists on them but I have made them for a few different occasions...THANK YOU Amanda for that recipe because people have started to like me more and more since I have made them.
I have tried to make dinner more often for Holty than I have been use to (and I am sure more than he is use to) and tonight I just ventured into making little treatsies for Holt to take with him to school. This is all definitely out of the ordinary for me. But I am trying!!! So if any of ya'll can give me recipes, or tips or advice I will GLADLY take it!

Hey Loo!

I told you about the grilled Salmon and pineapple and you sounded interested, so here it is. You get your salmon, canned sliced pineapple and some kind of teriyaki marinade saucey stuff. The recipe called for McCormacks Ginger Teriyaki marinade, but I couldn't find it so we just used any old teriyaki sauce and it worked great! You put the salmon and pineapple in a container with 1/2 c. of the sauce, then (with the lid on of course) you turn the container over until all the stuff is covered. Put in in the fridge for at least 20 minutes. Grill the salmon for 8 to 10 minutes and the pineapple for about 2 minutes. You don't have a grill, so broiling it would be good, it just makes your house smell like fish. I guess that's what air fresheners are for, huh! Anyway, it is yummy and super easy! Great for company! Love ya! MOM
