Rainy Days & Mondays Always Get Me Down

The weather in Oklahoma is quite a bit different than the weather in Utah.
Ice storms * Hail * Wind * Rain
It's all totally different! & you never know when something is going to be a big deal or not...Because ALL weather out there gets a Statewide Severe Weather Warning.
So when I was heading to work on a Monday morning after a LONG night of heavy rain and thunder {I can NEVER sleep through these nights}~ I really didn't think too much of it, because it happens so often.
Boy was I wrong.

Traffic was a bit heavier than usual ~it's usually not that bad at six in the morning~ but it soon came to a standstill. I was stuck in the same area on the freeway for over 2.5 HOURS!
Why? One may ask.
Oh because the FREAKING freeway in which I was on was FLOODING!

Yep I sat in my car for over two hours just watching the rain pour down and the water around me get higher and higher

That was the beginning of me being stuck...
Here's about an hour later...

My gas light came on about ten minutes into the standstill so the whole time I was worried I was going to run out of gas.
With all that water encasing my automobile...I, of course, had to pee.
Also keep in mind I am pretty claustrophobic so it really was the WORST! People kept cramming into each other on the left side of the freeway...where I was... to avoid the water.
Cars were getting stuck. Water was starting to come into people's cars.
Serious nightmare morning.
Then...we had police officers tell us to evacuate and leave our cars there on the freeway!
When I asked them if they were going to tow our cars the officer was just like "Yeah right, like we're going to tow over two hundred cars" [BTW for any one out there...do NOT ever have a cop call to have your car towed or let them tow it...because they charge you DOUBLE the cost...I found this out one winter, the tow truck driver told me to always call in my own tow].
I really didn't want my car towed. But I took him at his word.
So I left my car...jumped out in the DUMPING rain, in my work clothes, and climbed over a cement barrier and made the trek to a gas station that was on the other side of the freeway, up an off-ramp and then a few blocks...not even knowing what to do next and about ready to wet myself.
Long story short...my manager came to pick me up (since she was on the freeway behind me but luckily didn't have to leave her car) but it still took us another hour to get to work.
I left for work @ 6:15am but didn't get there until 11:30.

I actually called Holt to tell him that my car was about to run out of gas...so he came to my work to get the keys and he made it there before my manager and I did.
When Holt went to find my car to fill it up with gas...Guess what was happening?!
Oh EVERY car was being TOWED!!
Freaking liar cop!
Thankfully Holt got there in time to save my car from being towed.
It was just a messy, horrible, rainy day.
And I was lucky enough to spend the rest of my day at work in my water drenched clothes. Needless to say~ I got sick over the next few days.

That was a pretty crazy day! I would like to point out that I made it to work on time at 8:00... all over your face.

It was super hectic though! And I'm just giving you a hard time.

You shut your mouth.... You have no idea how crappy it was, just cause you have a Pike Pass and I'm poor and don't and couldn't go that way...wah wah
